Nancy: What were you doing in Japan?
Alice: I moved to Japan for my job. My company asked me to work at our branch office in Tokyo, and I jumped at the chance.
Nancy: Was it hard to live in Japan?
Alice: Not at all. I had a great time. The people are really kind, and the food is fantastic. Also, Tokyo is a very large city, so it is very convenient.
Nancy: Do you speak Japanese?
Alice: I am not fluent in Japanese, but I speak enough Japanese to get by.
Nancy: That must have helped.
Alice: You're right. It might have been very difficult to live in Japan if I hadn't been able to speak any Japanese.
