Are there any cookies left?

HOW TO USE

Speak as Carl
Speak as Beth
Carl: Are there any cookies left?

Beth: No, there aren't. I ate them all yesterday.

Carl: There were like ten cookies left yesterday. Did you really eat them all?

Beth: Yes. I was really hungry.

Carl: You could have eaten something else. We have plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables in the house. Why did you only eat cookies?

Beth: The cookies were too delicious. I hadn't planned to eat all ten cookies, but once I started, I couldn't stop.

Carl: That is funny but pathetic at the same time.

Beth: I know. Trust me, I am not proud of myself. Once I ate the last cookie, I immediately felt guilty and ashamed.

Carl: Don't worry about it. It happens to everybody sometimes. One time, I ate a whole cake by myself in one sitting.

Beth: Thank you for sharing that. That really does make me feel better.
