When do you normally get to work?

HOW TO USE

Speak as Fred
Speak as Jason
Fred: When do you normally get to work?

Jason: I normally get to work a little before 9 a.m.

Fred: Do all employees need to be at your office by 9 a.m.?

Jason: Yes, but the company's management doesn't care if employees are a few minutes late. They understand that traffic is bad in the morning.

Fred: That's lucky. My manager gets upset if anybody is even a minute late.

Jason: That sounds awful.

Fred: It is terrible, but it is also effective. Everybody is afraid of our manager getting angry, so they come to work early. Most people arrive 15 or 20 minutes early, and everybody is almost always on time.

Jason: That's an interesting point. Maybe, I will try that when I become a manager.
